Tips for Buyers
wayMadAds gives you a lot of tools that you aren't used to having with traditional ads. Come to think of it, you probably haven't had any tools, other than a red pen, which you probably supplied to begin with. You may need to spend a little time getting to know your way around and playing with some of the features we've provided to aid you in the buying process. Once you get used to these new features, we think you'll be quite happy.
We recommend always signing in when you visit, which is why you can always find the login link in the upper right hand corner, if you are already logged in, you'll see your username up along the top and the login link will be replaced with a logout link. If you find ads to add to your Favorites or want to use some of our other features, you may have to navigate back to the ad after you sign in if you weren't signed in already.
Mad Match Alerts
We highly recommend you take advantage of this great feature. Since it taps into the keywords you set up and the categories, you'll need to experiment and make adjustments. Too broad and you may get too many alerts; too specific and you may not get any. But it can really give you a head start to find things you are interested in. You still want to check in every now and then as an ad may slip past us, or if someone changes their existing ad, it won't trigger your alert.
Regular Visits
As we mentioned, the alerts can be very helpful, but we also recommend stopping by on a regular basis. This way you may find something that you are interested in that didn't make the alert or see something else of interest that you don't even have an alert for.
Seller Prices
Remember that sellers may be willing to accept a lower price, so it never hurts to ask. You should come up with some idea of what price you are comfortable paying though. You may want to look around if there are similar items to get an idea of what the going rate is. You should respect the seller though and not expect that they'll accept an offer that is dramatically less than what they have posted. And if they've indicated that their selling price is firm, then you should accept that, even if you think it isn't fair or reasonable. Be sure to place their ad in your Favorites though and check it frequently. If the price is too high, the seller may decide they need to lower the price or be more flexible to negotiating.
