About wayMadAds
Who or what is wayMadAds? Starting with who... wayMadAds isn't a company, it is a website and a service. wayMadAds is a web property of a small web development firm called Identity Developments, based right here in Madison.
In some ways, wayMadAds is the combined result of my experience in sales & marketing combined with the last 3 years in web development. So 3 years may not sound like much, but remember that we're talking about an industry that, as we know it, is only about a decade old... and in many ways, has covered more ground than most industries have in a century.
Like you, over the years I've found myself looking for things... apartments, cars, homes, jobs... and of course stuff, lots of stuff! Surprisingly, in most cases the challenge hasn't been lack of stuff, but way too much stuff. Let's face it, in most cases the web has has been like trying to drink from a firehose.
I happen to believe that most people have a pretty good idea about what they need and are looking for... perhaps a bit perplexed on what they want, but at least have a pretty good idea on what they need. So if they are having trouble finding it, it isn't their fault, it is because there hasn't been anything to connect them to what they need.
Enter wayMadAds. From the beginning, one of the goals of wayMadAds has been to provide a website that allows people to easily find what they want and more importantly what they need. If you are like me, you hate wasting other people's time as much as you hate having people waste your time. If something doesn't meet your needs, then it doesn't meet your needs... nothing is going to change that, no matter how wonderful what they are offering is... if you need 4 bedrooms, an automatic transmission or a job on a bus route, then nothing else is going to work, end of discussion. And I believe you ought to be able to find that.
Along with trying to give people what they need, wayMadAds hopes to help in other areas as well. When I worked in corporate America, I didn't really have time to "give back to the community" and I always thought how different things would be if I worked for myself. As reality would have it, working for myself, I've found less freedom of time and even less freedom of finanaces to help out. Since wayMadAds was a sideline project of my existing business, Identity Developments, this was a sad reality that had already been realized. The benefit though is that I knew this going in! Therefore, I saw wayMadAds as an opportunity to achieve some of these goals. So from the beginning, wayMadAds was developed with a strong community effort to give back. wayMadAds was initially developed with special "Give" areas devoted to helping the community and environment as well as special community groups.
In the end, wayMadAds has set out to be different by actually meeting your needs. So all those needs that you have been trying to meet, can actually be searched for and hopefully met on wayMadAds.
More importantly, we are here to work with you. We don't claim to be an expert on everything our members may want to use our site to sell. You'll find some categories have a wealth of additional questions and checkboxes to simplify placing an ad and helping to provide more information to buyers. We think our real estate and auto sections are already on their way to providing more information than you'll find anywhere else, but other categories may have little or no additional questions. But where else can you recommend a new category, or important category specific questions to be filled out to make the ads better? We're an online resource so we have a greater ability to add categories and questions to better serve your needs.
Please help spread the word and invite your friends, neighbors, co-workers, and anyone else you feel will benefit from wayMadAds. Together we'll build a strong, local online marketplace unlike anything you've seen.
