But first, perhaps the question on everyone's minds... why wayMadAds, as in why the name? This is actually a very easy question. The name wayMadAds is a very unique name that holds many very relevant meanings.
wayMadAds? Let's look at things in reverse...
- Ads
- This is fairly obvious... we are an ads site, however, we offer both classified and auction type ads, hence why the name wayMadClassifieds or wayMadAuctions was not used.
- Mad
- This is were things start to get tricky. The Mad part actually has a number of different meanings, all depending on your point of view.
- Mad as in "we're in Madison"... you might be as well so that one counts double!
- Mad as in "I can't believe how expensive newspaper classifieds are. I'm so mad!
- Mad as in "I can't believe how cheap your services are given all the features you provde. You must be mad! Certifiably MAD!"... that verdict is still out by the way.
- way
- This simple little word also has a number of different meanings.
- Way as in "We'll show you the way to what you are looking to buy, sell, give away, volunteer for, and maybe even the way to a better life."
- Way as in "This is way cool man," or "You guys aren't just crazy mad, you're way mad," or "I'm not just mad at the cost of print ads, I'm way mad!" and of course, we can't forget the greatness of Madison and all she has to offer, so perhaps she should be called "wayMadison!"
And one last reason, perhaps a little deeper than the others. wayMadAds wasn't developed by a classifieds or auction company, it was developed by a, of all things, a web development company. So we came up with a name that could embody all of these great meanings, and that would could also "own" search engine placement for, either directly by us or about us. Now that's wayMad! But then again, have you searched for "wayMadAds" today? All that from three little words, of three letters each. Now, what can those words do for you?
