Linking ad to a website

We realized that our members may have their own website or multiple websites that they would like to be able to send those who view their ads to. This may be very useful for businesses of any kind, but especially real estate agents who may want to include a link to their own site as well as their agency site, or may want to link to a virtual tour of a property which may be hosted on another server.

On the ad detail page, there are two website text boxes where you can add the URL or web address of the website and page you wish to link to. This may be something you know off the top of your head and can just type in. Or it may be a specific page or file in a certain area of another website, in which case we recommend opening the page in a separate browser window, then just copy the address in the address bar of your browser, and then paste it in the text box. Because we have no idea how large the address will be, we will simply list them on your ad detail page as links labeled as "website." These links will open up new windows so your visitor to view the website you have provided and still maintain their place on our site. If the link is of no interest, they can simply close the window and continue on.

You may enter in the website address in one of two ways:

• http://www.yoursite.com
• www.yoursite.com

Please be sure whether your website must be addressed with the www or not. This isn't always the case, but it may be confusing to your visitors if it does and you provide them a link without it, which may appear that the site is down or doesn't exist.
